Operations
Our Operations team co-ordinate and project manage the Audio Visual element of our contracts. The team consists of CAD, System Designers, Installation Engineers, Project Managers and Project Engineers all working together to ensure the Client’s needs and business requirements are met efficiently. Our Operations Division have a structured development program in place, that provides Engineers and Technical staff the opportunity to progress further within their career at AVM.
Installation Engineer
Location: St Margarets
The role:
· Nationwide and international delivery and installation of clients’ specified solutions as per paperwork and support documentation provided by the Installation Manager.
· Liaising with clients for feedback on installation (signing of Handover Certificate, Client Feedback form, etc) and reporting back to the Installation Manager.
· Carry out installations within the specified time-frame and guidelines provided by Installation Manager and supporting documentation.
· Provide feedback to the Head of Installations regarding specific installations and client issues on site.
· Deliver equipment to site where possible.
· Ensure vans are in good working order and stocked with correct level of consumables.
· Maintain good relationship with clients and represent AVM in the most professional way at all times.
Skills required:
· Good technical knowledge of AV and VC equipment.
· Good customer service skills.
· Excellent communicator.
· Technical understanding of AV and VC equipment, functionality and installation processes would be an advantage.
Project Manager
Location: St Margarets
The role:
· To ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the clients.
· To manage, monitor and control the project budget, identifying resources required.
· Coordination of project personnel and subcontractors for the duration of the projects.
· Production of project documentation, such as method statements, risk assessments, project plans, system schematics, handover documents, action plans, progress reports and project review summaries.
· Liaison with AVM / Matrix Account Managers, Clients, Third party suppliers and Contractors.
· Weekly Project Financial reporting to the Commercial Director.
Skills required:
· Experience of managing large scale projects.
· Experience of managing project budgets, project values in excess of £250k.
· Knowledge of MS Projects.
· Excellent communicator.
· Technical understanding of AV and VC equipment, functionality and installation processes would be an advantage.
Pre-Sales System Designer
Location: St Margarets
The role:
· Providing the technical support to the projects team.
· Design and draft systems for jobs for the Sales team prior to handover to the Project Manager.
· Provide supporting documentation and detailed technical drawings for projects.
· Confirm clients’ technical requirements and assist with specifying products.
· Assist Purchasing using knowledge to ensure correct items are purchased for job.
Skills required:
· A comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of AV/VC industry.
· Confidence to deliver on large detailed projects/tenders.
· A good understanding of Word and Excel.
· Thorough understanding of all aspects of AutoCAD.
Service
AVM has one of the biggest dedicated Service Departments in the industry by both staff numbers and revenue. It consists of field engineers, onsite technicians at our managed services sites, as well as our support and helpdesk teams.The Service Division supports all brands of presentation product including preventative maintenance, emergency call-outs, loan equipment, 24 hour emergency support and onsite support from our outsourced facilities management service. We also offer dedicated operational support on client’s premises with managed services including VC call set up and management, additional support during busy periods, helpdesk support, service and maintenance and remote systems monitoring.
Onsite Engineers
Location: Client sites in London and surrounding areas
The Role:
- Ensuring that the audio-visual equipment is tested and in correct working order on a daily basis.
- The rigging, de-rigging and storage of any mobile audio-visual equipment upon completion of events & ensuring that spare equipment is maintained and stored in a tidy and accessible state.
- First line fault finding and routine maintenance on audio-visual equipment.
- Communication of any defects, detailing the symptoms presented and subsequent actions taken to localise any defect.
- Brief clients in the correct operation of audio-visual equipment required for meetings.
- Testing and connection of LAN, ISDN and ADSL lines to equipment.
- Providing technical support for onsite events.
- Communicate any foreseeable problems to Management at the earliest opportunity.
Skills required:
- Excellent technical knowledge.
- Video Conferencing experience.
- Excellent co-ordination, communication and customer service skills.
Onsite Engineer (Coventry)
Location: Coventry
The role:
· Basic event support including set up, ensuring correct leads and adapters are available for conference organisers and participants.
· 15 minute on site response where conference centre staff are unable to resolve problems with helpdesk support.
· Telephone support 0830 to 1730 Monday to Friday for conference centre staff.
· Sound, AV, Effects, Recording, Webcasting.
· Production of “how to guides” on a range of equipment for each meeting room.
· Initial and refresher training of Conference Centre/Reception/Porters staff as required.
· Digital Signage Support to cover software and hardware.
· Management of return/repair/disposal process including obtaining quotes for review.
Skills required:
· Keen interest in AV technology.
· Excellent technical knowledge.
Sales
AVM’s sales teams are based nationwide, covering all areas of the UK. They comprise of professionals with specialist experience and knowledge in different sectors and product areas. This ensures a good breadth of technological knowledge to serve all of our customers. The Sales teams encompass the corporate division, selling directly to the Private and Public sectors and the education division selling into Schools, Colleges and Universities.
Account Manager
Location: St Margarets
The role:
- To sell video conferencing systems and audio-visual equipment. This may involve cold calling, client meetings, mail shots, public relations and account management
- Developing new contacts
- Developing business with existing clients.
- Working with an administrator to ensure quotes and tenders go out to clients
Skills required:
- Experience working in a sales environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the Microsoft package including excel, word and outlook
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills

Order Processor
Location: St Margarets
The role:
- Entering sales orders onto the system, goods receipting orders
- Assisting with box drop orders and service repair orders
- Liaising with suppliers on pricing, delivery, etc.
- Keeping track of orders and chasing up back orders
- Assisting with returns from projects back to the suppliers
- Other duties as and when required, including filing, answering the phone and general office duties
Skills required:
- Good communication skills
- Previous purchasing experience
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise work load
- Attention to detail
- Experience in office administration
